Experience Japan successfully organized and conducted the Award Ceremony of Japan On Canvas 2025—the 11th National Painting Competition—on January 15, 2026, at the prestigious Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. The event served as the culmination of a nationwide initiative to foster cultural ties and artistic expression between India and Japan, celebrating the creativity of young minds from across the country.

The ceremony was graced by a panel of distinguished guests who added immense value and inspiration to the occasion:

  • Chief Guest: (Retd.) Maj. Gen. P.K. Saighal (National Hero) and Mrs. Saighal.

  • Guest of Honor: Mr. Koji Sato (Director General – Japan Foundation, New Delhi).

  • Special Guests:

    • Mr. Rakesh Sharma (Subject Expert – CBSE).

    • Dr. Gaurav Sharma (President - Neki ki Raah, G-Sil Education Society, Sanatanpath

    • Sai Rattan Rajesh Sharma Ji (International Artist and Jury Member for JOC 2025).

    • Dr. Ranjan Kumar (Renowned Musician).

    • Mr. Pramod Sharma (Secretary – Koderma Schools Sahodaya Complex).


Competition Highlights

The 11th edition of Japan On Canvas saw unprecedented participation, reflecting the growing interest in Japanese culture through art.

  • Participation Reach: We received a staggering 4,876 entries from 206 schools across India between July and September 2025.

  • Selection Process: Our expert jury meticulously shortlisted 225 artworks for national awards.

  • National Exhibition: In November 2025, the Top 33 artworks (comprising Mega Winners and Winner Award holders) were exhibited in various cities across India, providing significant exposure to the young artists.


Awards and Recognitions

The ceremony felicitated the 225 national winners across five distinct categories:

  1. Mega Winner

  2. Winners’ Award

  3. Consolation Award

  4. Outstanding Performance Award

  5. Extra-Ordinary Performance Award


Special Recognitions

  • Star School Awards: Mr. Jitender Mehta announced the winners of the Star School Awards, honoring institutions that demonstrated exceptional participation and artistic excellence. We congratulate the school representatives who received these accolades.

    Representatives of Sacred Heart School - Koderma and Suncity School - Gurgaon, St.Xavier's High School, Sec 89 - Gurugram attended the ceremony and received their awards.

  • Teachers' Award: A special highlight was the announcement of the Teachers' Award, carrying a cash prize of ₹5,000. We extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr. Vinodkumar Varia (Art Teacher – Delhi Public School, Surat) for this well-deserved recognition.

Vote of Thanks and Acknowledgments

The ceremony concluded with an emotional vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Jitender Mehta (President – Experience Japan).

For award winners and participating schools who were unable to attend the ceremony in New Delhi, please note that your awards and certificates will be dispatched to your respective school addresses by the end of January 2026.
