About SLAP

SLAP is designed to inspire and educate, building upon Experience Japan's successful history of promoting cultural exchange since 2011. This comprehensive program aims to connect over 5,000 individuals with the beauty and opportunities of Japan in the 2025-2026 session.

Our Objectives

SLAP is structured to achieve the following objectives:  

• Broaden Cultural Awareness: Cultivate a deeper understanding of Japanese culture, traditions, and contemporary society.  

• Promote Language Learning: Motivate and encourage the study of the Japanese language, highlighting its relevance and accessibility.  

• Highlight Career Opportunities: Showcase the growing opportunities within Japanese industries in India and the value of Japanese language proficiency.  

• Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Contribute to the strategic and cultural partnership between India and Japan.  

• Connect 5000+ Indians: Engage and connect with over 5,000 individuals through the SLAP program in the 2025-2026 session.

Program Structure

SLAP is delivered in three engaging layers:  

• Layer 1: Initial Engagement and Assessment: Interactive sessions to gauge participants' existing knowledge of Japan and the Japanese language, and to understand their current connections to Japanese culture.  

• Layer 2: Informative Seminars and Presentations: Seminars on the current landscape of Japanese industries in India, highlighting career prospects for Japanese language speakers. Presentations on the strategic importance of the India-Japan partnership and its impact. Presentation on the ease of learning Japanese for Indian speakers.  

• Layer 3: Practical Language and Cultural Workshops: A 4-hour introductory Japanese language workshop covering basic grammar, essential phrases, and practical applications. Interactive discussions on various aspects of Japanese culture, lifestyle, and etiquette. Cultural demonstrations like Origami or calligraphy.

Program Implementation

SLAP will be delivered through a combination of online and onsite platforms, maximizing accessibility and reach. We collaborate with educational institutions, community organizations, and other partners to host workshops and seminars. The program will be conducted multiple times throughout the 2025-2026 financial year, based on requests and teacher availability. All trainers/teachers are provided by Experience Japan. Online platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet will be utilized for online sessions, with a robust registration and communication system in place.

Our Experience

Experience Japan has successfully conducted similar programs for the past three years, reaching over 8,000 individuals. Our experience includes developing and delivering engaging language and cultural workshops, collaborating with educational institutions and community organizations, and gathering positive feedback from participants.
