
The culmination of the prestigious "Japan On Canvas 2024" national painting competition was marked by a grand Award Ceremony held on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at Rishihood University, Sonipat. This ceremony served as a platform to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the young artists and recognize their remarkable talent.

A Celebration of Talent
Over 170 attendees from various states across India, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, and NCR, gathered to celebrate the artistic achievements of the young participants. The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual performed by our esteemed guests, followed by a captivating classical dance performance by Ms. Rutuparna Das Hota.
Rutuparna Das Hota: A Renowned Artist
A virtuoso in the art forms of Kathak and Mayurbhanj Chhau, Ms. Hota's performance captivated the audience with her grace and artistry. Her numerous accolades, including the Hindustan Gaurav Samman, Farsa Award, and Kala Shiromani Samman, stand as a testament to her exceptional talent. Ms. Hota's esteemed positions as a Senior Repertory Artist at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra and a resource person with Hindustan Times further solidify her reputation as a leading figure in the Indian art scene.
Reliving the Journey
Following the mesmerizing performance, a presentation showcasing the various facets of "Japan On Canvas 2024" was displayed on screen. This presentation provided a glimpse into the entire event, including the competition itself and the exhibitions that showcased the top 33 shortlisted paintings in renowned galleries.

Our esteemed guests then took to the stage, sharing their insightful thoughts and valuable advice with the young artists. Their words of encouragement and inspiration undoubtedly motivated the participants to pursue their artistic endeavors with even greater passion.
A Night of Recognition
The highlight of the evening was the much-anticipated award ceremony. Awards were presented across five categories: Extra Ordinary Performance Award Winner, Outstanding Performance Award Winner, Consolation Award, Winner Award, and Mega Winner Award. While not all the award winners could attend the ceremony in person, many were present to receive their awards. For those who couldn't be there, we ensured their awards were delivered to their respective schools.
