Japan On Canvas 2023 - Report & Result (9th National Level Painting Competition & Exhibitions by Experience Japan

Experience Japan conducted the 9th National Level Painting Competition named Japan On Canvas 2023 from 1 October 2023 - 1 December 2023.


Objective of this event was to make students learn and explore bonding between two great nations (India and Japan) and showcase their learning, talent, skills on a canvas.




Themes for the event were:

  • Category 1 - Japanese Anime

                                  For age Group: 8 - 11 Years

  • Category 2 - Buddhism in Japan

                                   For age Group: 12 - 15 Years


In total 1651 students participated in this competition from the various schools of India (School names are mentioned below:)

All of the participants performed extremely well. However, as this was a competition, we had to shortlist some of the artwork.

The First Exhibition of the Top 32 artworks inaugurated by Mr. Koji Sato (Director General - Japan Foundation, New Delhi) on 23 January 2024 (Tuesday) with a ribbon cutting followed by Lamp Lighting by Dr. Neena Zutshi (Dean Academics - WUD, Mr. Rajan Shripad Fulari - Dean - School of Visual Arts, Mr. Rakesh Sharma (CBSE Subject Expert - Mathematics, Sai Rattan Rajesh Sharma - Artist (Jury - JOC 2023).


Mega Winners and 7 Winners were present in the gallery to explain about their award-winning paintings.





 

JOC 2023 Award Ceremony - 23 January 2024

Venue: World University of Design

             Plot No. 1 & 2, Rajeev Gandhi Education City, NH-44

             Sonipat, Haryana (Delhi NCR)

Award Ceremony of the Event was held at the World University of Design on 23 January 2024 (3 PM - 5:30 PM).




Ceremony was chaired by Mr. Koji Sato (Director General - Japan Foundation New Delhi), Mr. Rajan Shripad Fulari - Dean - School of Visual Arts, Mr. Rakesh Sharma (CBSE Subject Expert - Mathematics, Sai Rattan Rajesh Sharma - Artist (Jury - JOC 2023).


Ceremony was started with a Indian Classical Dance performance by a trained dancer - Ms. Lavanya Balwani from New Delhi.


Mr. Jitender Mehta (President - Experience Japan) offered the token of love to our distinguished guests to welcome them.


Mr. Koji Sato and Mr. Rakesh Sharma motivated the participant with their kind and motivational words.


Ceremony was started with the announcement of consolation award winners, followed by Extra-Ordinary, Out-standing performance, Winners and Mega Winners Awards.


Mr. Mehta also announced the following awards on the day:


  • Star School Award 1: Chettinad Vidyashram - Chennai

  • Star School Award 2: DAV Public School - Lawrence Road, Amritsar

  • Guest Choice Award for Teacher's painting: Ms. Neha Vyas - S.D. Adarsh Public School - Gurugram (5000 Cash)


Eighteen Schools out of 67 schools attended the ceremony and winners received their awards.


We are thankful to all the parents and teachers who spared their precious time to attend the ceremony.


Ceremony was ended with the group photographs, followed by Vote of Thanks by Mr. Jitender Mehta.
