1. Executive Summary of Interactive Session at GVM Girls College
Experience Japan conducted a highly successful and interactive session with the students of GVM Girls College on October 1, 2025. The session, led by Mr. Jitender Mehta, President of Experience Japan, focused on introducing the various Japanese language and cultural courses offered by the organization and, more critically, on motivating students to recognize the immense value and growing career prospects associated with learning the Japanese language. The event was received with great enthusiasm by the students, demonstrating a strong interest in global career pathways.
2. Session Objectives
The primary objectives of the session were:
To introduce Experience Japan and its comprehensive range of Japanese language training programs.
To educate students about the burgeoning global demand for Japanese language professionals.
To inspire and motivate students to take up Japanese as a valuable skill for future career growth.
To foster a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and its relevance in today's globalized world.
3. Key Highlights and Content Delivery
A. Introduction to Experience Japan and Course Offerings:
Mr. Mehta began the session by providing a concise overview of Experience Japan's mission: to bridge the cultural and linguistic gap between India and Japan. He then presented the structured course curriculum, ranging from beginner (N5) to advanced levels (N1), emphasizing the practical and communication-focused teaching methodologies employed. Specific details were shared on:
The structure and duration of the courses.
Flexible learning options suitable for college students.
Cultural immersion elements integrated into the curriculum.
B. The Growing Demand: The 'Why' of Learning Japanese (Focus on Motivation):
The core of the motivational segment centered on outlining the compelling reasons behind the increasing global and domestic demand for Japanese language experts. Mr. Mehta highlighted the following points:
Economic Nexus: Japan's position as a technological and manufacturing powerhouse and the growing number of Japanese companies investing in India (e.g., in Automotive, IT, Electronics). This creates a direct need for bilingual talent for liaison, translation, and interpretation roles.
Career Diversity: Learning Japanese is not confined to translator roles. It opens doors in diverse sectors such as IT support, project management, tourism, international relations, journalism, and education.
Academic and Research Opportunities: Japanese proficiency is a significant advantage for students aspiring to pursue higher education, research, and scholarships in prestigious Japanese universities.
Cognitive and Personal Growth: Mr. Mehta stressed that learning a complex language like Japanese boosts cognitive abilities, patience, and provides a unique perspective on Asian culture, contributing to overall personal development.
The "Unfair Advantage": He strongly advocated that in a competitive job market, Japanese proficiency acts as an 'unfair advantage' that sets candidates apart, often leading to better job profiles and compensation packages.
C. Interactive Q&A Segment:
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Students showed curiosity about specific job roles, the difficulty of the language script (Kanji), and the best time to start learning. Mr. Mehta addressed all queries, using real-life examples and success stories of former students to further cement the motivation.
4. Conclusion and Acknowledgments
The session successfully delivered its message, leaving the students visibly energized and motivated to explore the possibilities of learning Japanese. The feedback received indicated that many students who were previously hesitant now view Japanese language learning as a critical career investment.
Experience Japan extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Spaah (Principal) and Mr. Rakesh Juneja for recognizing the importance of global language skills and for providing us with the platform to interact with the diligent students of GVM Girls College.
We look forward to a continued partnership in shaping globally competent professionals.
