Experience Japan is proud to announce the monumental success of the 2nd Exhibition of the 11th Edition of its flagship event, "Japan On Canvas 2025." This prestigious cultural showcase was hosted at the esteemed Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology (BITS) - Pilani, Rajasthan, commencing on 8 November 2025, as a key highlight of their annual cultural festival, 'OASIS 2025.'

A Legacy of Artistic Excellence
Japan On Canvas is the renowned annual pan-India art competition meticulously organized by Experience Japan. Since its inception in 2013, the event has grown exponentially, establishing itself as a crucial platform for fostering cross-cultural understanding and artistic appreciation among the youth of India. Every year, this initiative inspires thousands of talented Indian students to explore and visually articulate the rich heritage of Japan.
Record-Breaking National Participation in Japan On Canvas 2025
The 11th edition of Japan On Canvas 2025 saw unprecedented enthusiasm and participation from across the country. This year, Experience Japan was thrilled to receive a staggering 4,879 entries from 206 schools, representing every corner of India. This overwhelming response underscores the event's growing significance and the deep connection the students feel towards Japanese Art and culture.
The Exhibition Showcase at BITS Pilani: A Visual Journey to Japan
The core of the exhibition at BITS Pilani featured the Top 33 shortlisted artworks, which were carefully selected from the nearly five thousand entries. The displayed pieces offered visitors a diverse and visually stunning exploration of Japan's most celebrated motifs, including:
Japanese Architecture: Depictions of traditional temples and modern structural marvels.
Art-forms: Visual interpretations of classical Ukiyo-e and other fine arts.
Mount Fuji: The iconic and sacred peak, rendered in various styles and moods.
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms): The delicate and transient beauty of the spring bloom.
Each artwork provided a unique window into the artists' perspective, successfully blending Indian creativity with distinctively Japanese aesthetics.

The Japan On Canvas 2025 exhibition was open to all attendees of the OASIS 2025 festival and the wider community. Hundreds of visitors, including students, faculty, and local art enthusiasts, visited the exhibit.
